Dockside Property is a full service Real Estate Company operating in the State of Florida. We use the internet extensively in our business. Our main purpose in using the internet is to disseminate information to the public. This enables us to advertise our listings and offer sales assistance to the public. At Dockside Property we do not appreciate or send SPAM. Your e-mail address will not be shared with anyone outside of our organization, unless it is to refer you to another agent for a specialized real estate service.

False Return Addresses

SW Florida e-mail There is a possibility that you may receive e-mails which appear to come from Dockside Property and are unsolicited. In order to understand where these come from it is important to understand how the current e-mail viruses work. If an individual has Dockside Property in their address book, and then opens a virus, here is what happens. The virus will copy all of the information in the address book and start replicating itself to all of the addresses it finds. It will also use these addresses as the 'From' address in the e-mail, making it appear that it was sent by someone else. That is why you should never open an attachment without knowing what it is. The attachment may appear to be innocent enough, but can be deceiving. Even a file that looks like a graphic file can be a virus. The virus writers are getting clever and discovering new ways of tricking the public. There are too many tricks to list here.

Protect Your Inbox

Ft. Myers Florida The most important thing for you to note is that you must run some type of virus protection! It is important that you use a program that is updated regularly and that your copy is updated as well. Some companies will do this automatically through the internet, others will require you to download a "DAT" file and update manually. There are a number of good virus protection programs available. If you need one, you can start at:

or

Both of these sites are good sources of information as well.
